At some point, you realize you’ve picked up a few things along the way—some from experience, some from mentors, some from hard-earned mistakes, and some just from paying attention. And if you’re wired like me, you feel the need to share it, whether anyone asked or not.
That’s where Unsolicited Wisdom comes in.
This isn’t a self-help blog, and I’m not here to give you a 10-step plan to fix your life. But I do want to share insights on faith, personal growth, and the fascinating ways our minds work. As a pastor and counselor, I spend a lot of time thinking about how what we believe shapes how we live—and how understanding our brains can actually help us live with more freedom, purpose, and resilience. Some of what I share will be practical, some will be reflective, and some will just be me thinking out loud. I figure if I’ve wrestled with something, there’s a good chance someone else has too.
What You’ll Find Here
- Faith, identity, and the big questions – Not in a “here’s the right answer” way, but more like “let’s think about this together.”
- Lessons learned the hard way – Spoiler: I’ve made my fair share of mistakes.
- Brain science and how we grow – Because understanding how we’re wired can actually help us change.
- Practical wisdom for real life – The kind that helps you deal with stress, relationships, and the general messiness of being human.
- Stories and observations – Some serious, some funny, all true (at least as I was told or to the best of my memory).
I don’t expect everyone to agree with everything I say, and that’s fine. I’m not here to tell you what to think—I just want to offer something worth thinking about. And if anything here helps, encourages, or even just makes you nod along, then Unsolicited Wisdom has done its job.
So, welcome. Let’s see where this goes.
